Life is an art, and you’re an artist, so create a masterpiece. I am still working on my masterpiece… I'm a goofy, zealous, and unique individual. I enjoy the simplicities of life. I love the skin that I am in and have no shame in it. I won't judge you, that's God's job. Who am I to judge you anyway? No judgement here. Just love and understanding. I think sarcasm needs to be considered a language, an I feel that laughter is one of the best medicines in the world. Music, poetry, and God are the reasons why I have love in my heart still, an I have an overly dramatic chihuahua, Kalì, who lights up my day. Overall, I'm a down to earth chick who enjoys a good meal, with some wine and video games (PS4).I enjoy talking about current affairs (or a less intense version of politics is how I like to think of it), community development, music, and anything that stimulates the mind really.

Music Monday’s Artist of the moment: Nessa Preppy- Majah

Dis ah different kind ah vyb!” That it is. This gyal right here definitely is bringing a different kind of vibe to the world of music. Introducing, Nessa Preppy.

Vanessa John aka Nessa Preppy, is from the beautiful island of Trinidad. It really sparked my interest to find out that she was actually born in Germany. Her father is German and her mother is Trini. Sometimes we forget how diverse the world is because we’re so use to stereotypes.

Music Appreciateion: Riddims

So if you read my About Moi section
(Under the menu tab), you’ll notice I’m a Yanksta.
So it only makes sense that I enjoy Reggae to some degree.
Even though I’m a music junkie and love all genres of music, there’s something I truly enjoy about my era of Reggae & Dancehall, and that was the Riddims. Yes, the Riddims.

If you’re not familiar with the Reggae-Dancehall culture or Soca & Calypso culture, then maybe the term “Riddim” is new to you. Riddim, translated into English is “Rhythm”. Basically, it’s an instrumental.

Now the reason I have a high respect for the Caribbean music scene,
is how you can really see an artist creativity on a track.
One Riddim, 10 artist, 10 different sounds.

The day I thought Spice Bleached Her Skin

Image result for free funny emojis shockOK, so I know I wasn’t the only person in the world whose facial expression was like this emoji when this picture below of Spice was presented. I think anyone who seen this picture, felt the same way I did:

“NO!”
“This has got to be a joke.”
“NOT SPICE!”
“This is a publicity stunt.”

I think all of us had a million in one questions when Spice dropped her picture on Instagram of herself as a white women.

Freedom (Going Natural)

Love_this1

Freedom… It’s hard growing up in a world where people judge you by looks and stereotype you. A world where beauty is depicted by covers of magazines. Living in a world of materialism and society having an expectation of you being somebody OTHER than yourself; which kills the essence of being an individual. Everybody was made differently, and that’s why LOVING yourself as you are is BEAUTIFUL. That’s freedom! Freedom of loving myself as I am and not having to conform to society’s definition of “beautiful”.
