Do you remember that TV show “Talk Sex with Sue” ? She is a retired Canadian writer who used to have a phone-in talk show answering questions about sex.
Sex isn’t a topic that should be dusted under the rug. Sex is natural and a part of our everyday lives. We all get a little shy about it, but we all can use a little advice here and there when it comes to love-making. Let’s talk sex…

“Why watermelon?” you may ask.
“Where is she going with this? Is this a fetish article or something?”
These are probably questions you’re thinking in your head as you read the headline, but this isn’t a fetish article.

I always preach about how everything your body needs is within your foods. Meaning, what you eat effects all aspects of your body, even your libido (sex drive).

Erectile dysfunction (ED) in men is a common condition. 50% of men over the age of 40 experience erectile dysfunction according to UNC Health Talk. Erectile dysfunction is the inability to maintain an erection to perform 50% of the time. As men get older, it seems natural that their libido decreases, but we’re starting to see more cases of men under the age of 30 already experiencing the limp sensation, which isn’t a good sensation. I can imagine how depressing that may be to be young and your libido be so low. A survey in the UK was conducted back in 2018 which showed results of 49% of men in their 30’s experiencing ED and 35% under 30

ED can be caused by a variety of factors such as age, smoking, and health problems. Men are quick to run to the doctor about ED and get prescribed Viagra, not knowing there are natural remedies to help build stamina and increase libido. This is where the watermelon comes in.

What we eat effects our bodies and how they operate. If your libido is low, it may be due to lack of nutrients in your system or from polluting your body with junk (Meat, fast-food, snacks, candy). Detox and take a look at your diet to see how you’re eating and then you can incorporate more fruits, vegetables and grains to rejuvenate your system. Watermelon contains compounds (phytonutrients) like citrulline, lycopene, and beta carotene. All these chemical compounds found in watermelon improves stamina and erectile dysfunction, protects the prostate, and increases libido.

I found that juicing watermelon is your best bet for increasing your libido. There are different forms of watermelon, but the one with the most citrulline are the red-fleshed ones (red on the inside). Watermelon season is from May to September (depending on where you live). Eating by the season is the best way to go. We’re in watermelon season, so enjoy.

I’ll give you a quick juice recipe that I make a bit that will get your blood pumping for a good night in the bedroom. What you will need:

Pink Paradise:

  • Water
  • Watermelon
  • Pineapple (optional)
  • Ginger (powder preferably for better mixing)
  • ½ Mint leaf
  • Sweetener (agave, sugar, honey)
  • Put in an equal amount of watermelon and pineapple (optional) in your blender.
  • Add water just above the fruit (or to your liking depending on how thick you want it).
  • Throw in a couple dashes of ginger (if you’re using the actual root, you can just cut a slice and blend it, but due to the stringiness of ginger, you will have to strain your drink).
  • Add sweetener and mint leaf (or blend without). You may choose to blend the mint in with the juice (which I find better), or if you’re picky about drinking leaves, you can just add it in after.
